Numerous medical organizations take a stance against the consumption of raw milk. Their reasoning is that raw milk can harbor harmful pathogens and offers no advantages over pasteurized milk. Nevertheless, these assertions are outdated and contradict the latest peer-reviewed and internationally published studies.
The reason for raw milk’s negative reputation is that there are two types of raw milk! Raw milk that is intended for pasteurization is quite different than raw milk produced for direct human consumption.
It is true that raw milk produced as “intended for pasteurization” is generally unsanitary and unsafe to consume raw. Such milk is being produced in conditions where animal health is compromised, antibiotics are utilized, hormones are used to stimulate higher levels of milk production, there is an abundance of manure, and there is a corresponding high rate of pathogens. This type of raw milk is clearly high risk and unsafe to consume.
However, raw milk that is carefully and intentionally produced for direct human consumption is a low-risk food with superb nutritional benefits. Fresh Flow Farm is a RAWMI listed farm. We did receive training and have met rigorous standards for producing clean, safe raw milk by developing: (1) a farm-specific Risk Analysis and Management Plan (RAMP), (2) testing daily for bacteria, (3) adhering to strict hygiene and management practices. This type of raw milk we offer is low risk and safe to consume.
Carefully produced raw milk has numerous health advantages over pasteurized milk. Whereas pasteurized milk is now recognized as a top food allergen and difficult to digest, raw milk is actually a health-supporting food with rich therapeutic potential and is easily digested by most consumers.
Like breastmilk, raw milk is a living whole food which provides excellent nutrition along with health-supporting enzymes and probiotics. Raw milk is a super food and has a superior nutrient profile, whereas pasteurized milk has diminished nutrition with denatured proteins and fats.

Part of these common standards is regular testing of our milk. We submit data monthly to show that we are in compliance with RAWMI Common Standards, which aim for <10 coliforms/mL and <5,000 cfu/mL for standard plate count.
